Sara Mahmoud

Sara Mahmoud is the Operations Coordinator for UConn Global Affairs, where she supports divisional planning, coordination, and administrative operations to advance Global Affairs initiatives and collaboration across units.

She brings more than seven years of experience in marketing, communications, and project management across higher education, philanthropy, and international organizations. Prior to joining UConn, Sara served as a Marketing Coordinator at the Yale School of Management, where she led digital content strategy, managed social media, and supported major executive events—including the Yale CEO Exchange, a convening of more than 50 Fortune 500 leaders.

Sara has also held communications roles with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education and the United Nations Development Programme, where she developed communication strategies, produced media materials, and supported regional initiatives focused on education and youth development.

In addition, she founded Helpee, a social-impact platform supporting people of determination, which was later acquired by government partners in Abu Dhabi.

She holds an MBA from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Alexandria University.
