UConn and the UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, world leaders of the United Nations came together and adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This promise to secure the rights and well-being of everyone on a healthy, thriving planet remain the world’s roadmap for ending poverty, tackling inequalities, and protecting the planet. UConn proudly conducts ongoing research, teaching, and public engagement central to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals with strong focuses on social justice, environmental awareness and advocacy, and civic responsibility.

UConn@COP Fellowship Program

For the past decade, UConn students and faculty have taken part in the United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP)— the premier global Climate Change Conference. Through the UConn@Cop Fellowship, UConn students have contributed to international press panels, networked with global NGOs, sustainability-focused businesses, engaged with international delegates and leaders of environmental justice movements, and connected with passionate, like-minded students from colleges and universities across the U.S. and around the world.
