Human Rights Research Consortium Draws International Audience

More than 150 human rights researchers from four continents gathered virtually on Monday, November, 9, 2020 for the inaugural conference of the Connecticut/Baden-Württemberg Human Rights Research Consortium (HRRC), a unique international and interdisciplinary initiative that grew out of an academic exchange program established 30 years ago.

HRRC co-directors on the Connecticut side are Sebastian Wogenstein, associate professor of German and comparative literature, and Katharina von Hammerstein, Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor of German Studies in the Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages. Both have been involved with UConn’s Human Rights Institute for many years.
